Der Einsatz von amrinon, und selten, milrinone, kann dazu führen, Thrombozytopenie. Dies scheint Dosis-abhängig und erfolgt in der Regel während längerer Therapie. Therapie mit amrinon und milrinone gegeben werden sollte vorsichtig in Patienten mit Thrombozytopenie. Die Dosierung muss möglicherweise reduziert oder das Medikament abgesetzt, wenn die Thrombozytenzahl fällt unter 150.000/mm3, oder wenn die Symptome sich entwickeln. Thrombozytenzahlen vor und während der Therapie empfohlen.
