Die Verwendung von Phenothiazin ist verbunden mit " pseudo-Parkinson-Symptome wie akinesie, bradykinesia, Tremor, Pille-Rollen, Zahnräder Steifigkeit und Haltungs-Anomalien, einschließlich der gebeugten Haltung und der schlurfende Gang. Der Beginn ist in der Regel 1 bis 2 Wochen nach Beginn der Therapie oder Erhöhung der Dosierung. Propylamino-Derivate wie Chlorpromazin, promazine, und triflupromazine kann mehr wahrscheinlich induzieren diese Effekte. Therapie mit Phenothiazine gegeben werden sollte vorsichtig in Patienten mit Parkinson-Krankheit oder Parkinson-Symptome.
