Im Allgemeinen, die Verwendung von Anticholinergika kontraindiziert bei Patienten mit Harnverhaltung und Blase-Hals-Obstruktion verursacht durch eine gutartige Prostatahyperplasie. Dysurie auftreten und erfordern Katheterisierung. Auch, Anticholinergika verschlechtern kann teilweise obstructive uropathy. Vorsicht geboten ist auch bei der Verwendung von Agenten mit leichter bis mittelschwerer anticholinerge Aktivität, insbesondere bei älteren Patienten.
