Selektive serotonin-Wiederaufnahme-Hemmer (SSRI) sind vor allem durch die Leber metabolisiert. Die plasma-Konzentrationen von SSRIs und deren Metaboliten erhöht und die Halbwertszeiten verlängert bei Patienten mit eingeschränkter Leberfunktion.
