Konsument:

Der Einsatz von sotalol kontraindiziert bei Patienten mit angeborenen oder erworbenen QT-Intervall-Verlängerung Syndrome. Sotalol hat Dosis-abhängige proarrhythmische Effekte im Zusammenhang mit der Verlängerung des QT-Intervalls. Das Risiko von torsades de pointes ist die schrittweise erhöht, wie der Grad der Verlängerung wird größer. Erklärt der Hersteller, dass sotalol verwendet werden, sollten mit besonderer Vorsicht bei Patienten, deren QTc größer als 500 MS on - Therapie. Ernste Betrachtung sollte gegeben werden, zur Verringerung der Dosis oder absetzen der Therapie, wenn die QTc übersteigt 550 msec.

Der Einsatz von sotalol kontraindiziert bei Patienten mit Hypokaliämie (< 4 meq/L). Darüber hinaus Patienten, die Häufig, schwere oder anhaltende Durchfall kann Gegenstand Elektrolyt-Verluste und sollte genau verfolgt werden und entsprechend gehandhabt während der Therapie mit sotalol.
