Konsument:

Trizyklische und tetrazyklische Antidepressiva (Tzas) sind bekannt zu Unterziehen Stoffwechsel in der Leber. Einige der Metaboliten, wie z.B. Imipramin, Clomipramin und Desipramin, kann pharmakologisch aktiv. Viele Metaboliten werden auch von den Nieren ausgeschieden. Es gibt sehr begrenzte Daten über die Verwendung von TCAs in Patienten mit Nieren und/oder Leber-Krankheit. Therapie mit TCAs sollte verabreicht werden vorsichtig in Patienten mit erheblich eingeschränkter Nieren-oder Leberfunktion. Eine Dosisanpassung kann notwendig sein.
