Konsument:

Opiat-Agonisten haben cholinergen Aktivität. Große Dosen und/oder schnelle intravenöse Verabreichung kann produzieren Bradykardie und Arrhythmie über die stimulation von medullären vagale Kerne. Im Gegensatz zu anderen Agenten in der Klasse, meperidin hat auch anticholinerge Aktivität und verursachen entweder Bradykardie oder Tachykardie. Therapie mit Opiat-Agonisten verabreicht werden soll, vorsichtig in Patienten mit einer Vorgeschichte von Herzrhythmusstörungen. Klinische überwachung der Herz-Kreislauf-status wird empfohlen, während der Therapie. Bradykardie und andere cholinerge Effekte, die durch diese Wirkstoffe kontrolliert werden kann mit Atropin.
