Konsument:

Die Verwendung von östrogenen ist kontraindiziert bei Patienten mit nicht abgeklärte, abnorme Blutungen aus der Scheide. Längere (> 1 Jahr), einstimmig östrogen verwenden (d.h. ohne begleitende östrogen-Gestagen-Therapie) wurde im Zusammenhang mit eine signifikante, dosisabhängige Risiko von Endometrium-Karzinom. Das Risiko kann kompensiert werden wesentlich durch die Zugabe von Gestagen kann aber nicht vollständig abgeschafft. Vor der Initiierung östrogen-Therapie, entsprechende diagnostische tests durchgeführt werden bei Patienten mit abnormen Blutungen aus der Scheide, um auszuschließen, Endometrium-Malignom. Das gleiche gilt, wenn wiederkehrende oder anhaltende Blutungen entwickelt sich während östrogen-Therapie.
